I also changed the front emulsion tube to a spare rear one I had and richened the mixture by a 1/4 turn out on each carb. yes I know I should only do one change at a time but I don't do anything by the book. I also replaced the foam filters in the corners of the airbox.

The slight carb cough/stutter I had at around 3-4 thousand revs has now gone and my idle is smoother. I'm getting close to the point now where it's ready for a dyno run.

Carl, I thought you like it in shiny Chrome??? That's looks a bit like the undercoating of the wheel bay in cars... What kind of paint did you use? Is it resistant to scratches?

Not sure about scratch resistant, I suppose it will be as good as any other paint, but it is heat resistant to 90C. It's a spirit based paint (yes we still have them here, lovely CFC's ) so I expect it to be pretty hard wearing.

I agree it does look a bit like underseal, the paint was in a spray can and sprayed out with quite a thick flow. The white flecks where already in the paint and it;s designed to be textured. The texture may be a little course, though it does look worse in the close up pics which show every detail. I'm happy with it for now, and just want to crack on and get the rest done Give it a year or so and I may decide to smooth the texture down a bit.

That comes when the engine seizes

Not sure if I missed the post but how did you get that paint affect? I can not say I am a fan of it but I am interested in knowing how it was done.

Cheer Griff, not many people do. I think it's that second pic it looks rubbish there. It has matted down a bit more now it's had time to dry.

It's for indoor use but as it's spirit based I think it will be OK. Also the top coat is indoor and outdoor with UV resistance so should be good.

Next step will be the window.

It's bigger and helps counteract the extra heat that the +4 ignition advance makes .

well done lloydie, quick question tho, on your rhs rad, you have a bracket snapped off, i have the same on my spare rad, where have you mounted the switch/whatever the hell it is that mounts onto that bracket???
