Well after seeing those mine should come up nicely as they are not as bad as that. When I get time I will also be taking the headers off and giving them a good going over to get them nice and shiny too. Sun glasses may be req!

Rode it 100 miles on our local easter egg run was a good test of the raised bars and shorty levers,
big improvement on the standard set up.

power drill with lots of attachments needed, i was doing mine last month, but got bored after 30mins.....

TBH not much elbow grease was involved...
I used a polish wheel kit on me bench grinder...

not this time andy....
i think it took carl 2 days to do his, and last week i looked at carls exhaust and after using his bike thru winter, it was looking crappy again, although not as bad as before.....

Yep, waste of time doing the headers unless you give them a quick once over with a green scourer or something every week or find some sort of heat resistant lacquer that they can be coated in.

Well, after a phone call to Tony Mon and totally unexpected on a Bank Holiday, with a short ride to his, Tony fitted manual CCTs to my bike, well what can i say but "thank you", it was great to meet you and talk me though the stages of what you were doing and why, i learnt a lot!. Cheers

And after that I changed the main jets on mine to 195 front and 200 rear.
A quick ride, and I learnt that i have to keep my nuts on the tank in the first three, otherwise the front's coming up all the time.
I suppose I''ll get used to it...

Did some cleaning up of the rearset brackets today and they look a lot better. Pics to follow. I used the durafix rods to fill some of the welds and also rebuild a couple of areas where the grinder had removed a little more than I had wanted. It really is a properly brilliant bit of kit. You need to get the metal that is going to receive the rod really hot so that the rod melts by touching the metal not by the flame. I used a Rothenberger torch to get the heat into the bracket, Taymar or one of the other DIY torches wouldn't be powerful enough. Once the metal cools and sets you can shape it with files and wet n dry. Thanks to Benny for the heads up on it.
I also fitted transparent heat shrink over the braided steel hoses for my SP oil cooler. Bit of a faff but got it on them and shrunk it down. Looks tidy and should keep the crap out of the braiding. I have enough heat shrink left over for another couple of lines if anyone is doing the same job. Took ages to arrive when purchased from China. Yours for postage if it's any good to you.
