Sorry Beamish,
I've been working away and only just caught up with this thread. Well it seems as if the deal has been done :D You've now left the land of the bland and joined the esteemed heights of the few :biggrin .

Seriously though, your write up was pretty much what I expected after coming off a blade and a good 40 bhp difference in motor probably has a lot to do with it  Oh! and you'll definitely miss that slipper clutch when you start hammering into corners.
The SP can't compete with the new litre bikes but it can still stay pretty damn close. Personally I find its weight is the main limiting factor. The brakes can be made to work better if needed. (Stick to HRC pads)
The main mod I would spend money on is the front forks. Get the internals set up for your weight and you can push this thing beyond belief.
On the fueling, a power commander is always a good thing with aftermarket pipes but not needed with the SP2 in std trim. I've seen 46 mpg out of mine and the fuel light didn't come on until about 140 miles on the trip. Mind you I have also seen the light come on at 90 miles  115- 125 is about average with my work commute.

Have Fun, go and have a good play :D
