Blackbirds are ok bikes, no need to do valve clearances they're never out of spec. Linked brakes are pretty good, no point De linking the brakes they won't be better, just keep the fluid fresh and fit HH pads. I've witessed a blackbird carving up R1's and gsxr's on track days, wheelying up to 140+mph and doing 100mph stoppies (with standard brakes), they can boogie with a few mods and some big balls, lol.

Met a guy on a ride last week with one. He has 298,000ks on it. It just had its first motor work.

It needed a new thermostat.

Carbs ok fit an akra then see if it needs jetting, it might be ok, don't think the akra is too expensive new, but def the pipe to have on a BB. I've fitted fork spring before to them but can't remember weight, got them from Maxton but was long time ago, also altered air gap which worked well. When your ready to mod give me a shout an i'll see if i can get my memory working, lol

I will Bob don't worry .
It has the later fi headers on it atm with standard cans and it needs jetting as its got the flat spot at 5,1/2k rpm ,
Not noticeable when it's cold .
When it's up to temp it's there ,so I'm thinking its lean on the needles ,
(Standard jetting by the way ) .
Love the bird so far :-)

Sounds like a big Honda lol .
It's one of the reasons why I wanted one as there very reliable bikes , sure cct and rr fail but they have both just been do on this bike :-) .

I'll pull it apart next week and give it a good going over just to put my Curiosity at rest

Recommend not, apparently you can damage the cat.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
