i'd hunt out an unmolested loom and keep this one as a spare.

Cheers Tony, I'm in two minds about it so I'll see how I get on. Problem is I'll only have to cut into the next one to fit the speedo again so not sure.

After my last post I managed to get a few more bits done. Sorted out the other stuck bolt on the swing arm, and cleaned up the frame so I'll pop it round the anodisers and see how much it'll set me back.

Yes to buying another loom, I am not a spark or brilliant at mechanics but that pic just screams "throw me away".

Hello pon, I've managed to get the engine mostly masked up. I'll probably get that finished off this weekend but I've got to wait for some good weather to spray it (I've been banned from spraying it in our freshly decorated office). I'll also try and get the tyres off and clean up the wheels.

Won't be setting any speed records with this one.....

Yeah here's some pics, sorry been a bit slack

Frame all cleaned up:

I'm not gonna be able to get this anodised which is a shame so current plan is to sand and polish the cast parts and paint it all satin black.

Here's some bad photos of the masking!

Not a huge amount of progress but something at least.

Ant, I know how you feel with painting the engine. Once you start sanding it, you realize how many nooks and crannies this engine has. My fingers didn't have finger prints for several weeks after sanding/prepping it. It took A LOT longer to paint it than I figured, with all the prep work and whatnot. I've been watching your progress and I can't wait to see your bike all together.

Hope you don't mind me posting a couple pictures in your thread. This is how my painted engine currently sits.

Hello crux, nah I don't mind. That looks good, you've done a propper job there. I'm gonna do mine in gloss black too then the frame and engin covers in satin, so im hoping that the gloss will look cool behind all the satin.

Been another week without any progress I'm afraid. But I'll keep chipping away at it....

Right, so finally a bit more progress.... I'm painting the engine today!

I'll update later but for now, here's my workshop looking like that scene from Snatch in the pawn brokers:

I've already done the first coat so I'll post up in a bit what it end up looking like.
