nothing to the bikes but took everything out the garage, swept the floor out, hoverd it, swept it some more, then painted it white

went to the tip with old carpet and rubbish

waited for paint to dry, then fitted new suzuki blue carpet on top :D

fitted shelving racks on the right and loaded them up and sorted stuff out ready for the new arrival

Also fitted some new alloy exhaust hangers to replace the chrome steel Scorpion originals which again rust to buggery.
Kev - what did you do for bracketry on the SP cooler?

Still - I did strip left hand switch gear down, contact clean & WD40 - now dip switch and RH turn don't need a dozen stabs to make them work. New sweatband on M/Cyl, washed off road salt and lubed the chain. Not incredibly productive, but still 3 hours well spent....

Currently stuck into the stopper mod. Have a question, do I just pull the spark plugs out? I cannot see any place for a tool but they're too stubborn to come out :(

Got the front cap off... Don't think I can reach the actual spark plug with anything short of psychic powers though, and I can't find the rear one. Haynes Manual, Y U NO HELPFUL

Spark plugs, you will either need an 18mm deep socket and you may get lucjy and the outer circumference of the socket will slide down or get yourself a 12mm plug spanner. You should have a plug spanner in the toolkit under the seat if you have one. A magnet is also handy for lifting the plug out once it''s undone.

As for CCT''s follow the instructions for the stopper and timing in the workshop knowlagebase here.

I wasn't following the Haynes I was finding the spark plugs. Both out and corroded so that's another job that will need doing soon. Where are the two caps for the alternator housing? I'm following sirch's guide in the workshop knowledgebase but as someone with little mechanical knowledge apart from that I gained from watching my dad I'm stuck. :(

Is it the thing underneath the LHS fairing? With a huge allen bolt in the middle and a smaller one to the left? If so, don't I need to remove the surrounding bolts first?

Generator cover caps. The great big silver one in the centre with the allen key hole and the smaller one to the left. The centre one gives you access to the flywheel bolt so you can turn the crank and the smaller one allows you to see the timing marks.

Hopefully you have no problems removing them, especially the centre one otherwise you will be after some of these.

Fitted zx9 footpeg (£13) to accommodate my 'stiff' leg on the left side. Used the exhaust mount point on the hanger to gain a drop of an inch, and rotated the gear lever one notch on the spline. When leg gets better it will be easy to revert back to normal.

Idea borrowed from here: and made spacer tube from a on old plug spanner.
