Come home after a ten hour shift at work, what do I do, sit and relax? Oh no, instead I go out to the garage and do some more tinkering!!
ADDED A PERSONAL TOUCH!
REPAINTED THE BELLY PAN!
APPLIED DECALS TO BELLY PAN!
And also re-painted wing mirrors black. Next thing to do is laquer the belly pan and re-attach it and oh yeah, get around to fitting the manual ccts sooner rather than later!!

today i thought i'd best clean the bikes headers, i couldn't be arsed to take them off the bike, so i attack them with a dremmel and various grades of sandpaper. i've not finished yet, but heres a few pics of my progress.

i'm reasonably happy with the results, i used a flexi-drive on the dremmel which allows me to get in all the little nooks and crannies....
i'll probably finish it off with some autosol.

Made a start on upgrading/servicing my forks.
All stripped down.
Drained the old manky fork oil which looked like a dirty milky colour.
Removed the cartridge and rebound rod.
Removed all the valveing inside the cartridge so I can drill my 1mm relief hole a de-burr the inside.
The outside bushes did look a worn and needed changing but the inside ones that sits around the base of the stanchions looked perfectly fine but I changed them anyway.
I also spent quite a bit of time scrubbing and cleaning the front of the engine and stuff while I had easy access.
Tomorrow I shall taper the rebound rod, drill my relief hole, cut 10mm of the spacers and start rebuilding them.

Had an exam this morning and I booked the whole day off work so I went for a short-ish 100 mile trip early afternoon. Bike handles like a dream but its footing isn't always as comfortable as I'd like. What are the main indications of needing to top up tyres?

Low tyre pressures, for a start.....

You will probably notice it first on the steering as it will get a but stiff. The back end may feel a little soft and slide a bit. Just check your tyre pressure anyway, it's simple enough. You may want to have a play around with your suspension setting. Even moving the rear shock a couple of notches may make a difference. Have you got a C spanner in the toolkit. That is off course if you have a toolkit under the seat.

looking good carlos, are you painting the top bits tonight?
i bet your itching to finish it and go for a ride, when i think back to how badly your bike steered before you did the head bearings, then the bald front tyre, this should be the last piece of the handling puzzle for you, well until you bit the bullet and get a new rear shock or spring.....

About 6 weeks ago Wicky

our tyre pressure thing broke in the process and I haven't had a chance to get another one..
Thanks Tony for your valuable insight
And my rear shock is beyond crap right now. Brother recently told me that it's done at least 20K miles

need to get a new one soon because it's hurting my butt

but at least it's the rear and not the forks, they definitely work now

but I can't really adjust it. Is on its highest setting as is as soft as cheese left out on a summer day
