Not to worry about the tyres AP. Like I said its the French internet that's to blame. I am certainly getting the seat down to him to have it re shaped and foamed. I WILL get it sent off in the next few weeks to get it done. To be honest once the panniers had seated themselves in the right place the sore butt was not as bigger problem. Having a tank that only did 120miles (sometimes less than 11l) helped as we had to get off and move around but the seat will still get done. Certainly well before the next time next year

Ordered some frame projectors for the gsxr as the leather on my boots has taken the paint off the frame, wombles sh1t finish, brake side is fine but gear side with the movement of up and down through the gears has rubbed at the paint near the ankle hight area.
Also got some brembo SA pads for the front as the original ones only have a mm or so left on them, expecting massive improvement hopefully it will feel as good as the blades then, and when I get paid I'll put braided hoses on too.
My leathers sold on Saturday for 230 quid delivered or 235 but seller has still not paid, was hoping they would then I could have ordered hoses at the same time as pads

Today I set to on marking my eastern beaver relay kit made and fitted. Took a few hours. Works nicely. Then I decided to fit a new reg/rec and found it is the plug that is the problem as it is melted and not in good shape. It may clean up but I'm doubting it. Would chopping off the plug and replacing it with female spade terminals do the job?

You can cut it off and put your own connectors on or replace the plug.

The R/R must have been faulty and overheating which has caused the plug and wiring to melt. What R/R have you replaced it with.
Everyone goes on about replacing them with a finned version, yes this is better than the standard OM one but this is misleading as they are still prone to fail at some stage, it's the nature of the design. For a bullet proof solution one should fit a MOSFET as the design internally is different and they don't get as hot. The downside is that they are expensive compared to others.

Its a Chinese copy finned one. Not sure if I trust it. It was given to me. Will try it to see if it works but will also try the old one to see if it charges correctly and its just the plug causing problems. I'll more than likely cut the plug off and use insulated spade terminals instead.

Let's hope I have the same luck

I shall get some terminals from work tomorrow and it may have to wait till the weekend now, depending on weather.

At minimum use a later upgraded Honda finned version (£20 secondhand from flebay) or as Tweety & Carl say splurge out on a MOSFET R/R or have good get-you-home recovery in place. Also ensure clean and corrosion free connectors.
