Warped discs

had read about the K5 / K6 going through discs but just thought this was because the people was hammering them

mine are wombles now on the front, after a few miles the discs are scorching and the bike is juddering

Suspect its the calliper at fault that's not returning correctly / sticky pistons or somthing will take the calliper apart tomorrow and clean it all up see what's what

looking at the price of discs are making my eyes bleed

But regardless going to need new discs

Trying to do driving lessons got theory booked for a few weeks off and just booked a theatre show in London and two nights in a Hilton so didn't need the extra expense, she's looking good but not going any where fast, if she does she's doing it with a shudder

I've been reading that a lot of people get rid of these callipers the Suzuki comes with and fit Yamaha units and have been trouble free since so might have to keep my eye out for a cheap set if there is such a thing

:eek2 As Tony say's look at it as an upgrade opportunity. Aftermarket discs will be a lot better with a lot more wear. It's just that it come at the wrong time.

If you down in London for a couple of days, give us a shout and we can meet up for a quick  You could have picked a cheaper hotel  Which Hilton are you staying at?

Not sure off top of my head ill check the paper work and get back to you Carl :)

been pricing up Calipers and they can be had for not to much money and they are Mono block radial items too so that's a bling thing init...

Spacers should be around 20 quid,

New seal kit should be around 20 quid for both

What discs to get though i don't know....

Can get spacers ordered for either 310mm standard size discs or 320mm

There's one in the States.

Don't know about discs, that's one of those things you need to research. I have a feeling it's these that will cost the £££ though.

i don't buy anything at all from the states any more got sick of them being held, inspected and then heavily taxed and having to go and pick them up and pay the extra

Whipped off the clocks removed the clock faring, removed the cobwebs ( it was Yellow remember...) & gave it a paint.

Washed the VFR...Bloody white wheels, fiddly 6 spokes, What a pain in the wrist, job that was...

I think I just had one of the best rides of my life so far :D

Got to Crossgates at 8.30 this morning with the mad les on his ktm950sm (not the smt, he sold it to get an older carbed sm) and there is a group of Asian lads there with some serious bling bikes.... Panagali S, a biaggi rep RSVP Facrory, a Ducati 759 (or whatever the small version of the 1098 is called) a new blade and a Milwakie rep R1.

We filled up and left just as they were leaving, and headed off in front of then on the road up to Newtown.... After about 5 miles I can see 2 bikes in my mirrors, its the 2 ducatis, and Les decides we can't let new bling bikes get away, so we lift the pace from 80% to very high 90s and set off after them. All I can say is :D :D :D they didn't get away.

And when we decided it was time to stop the madness and pulled over, it was a good 3 mins before the RSV! The blade and the R1 came past.

Not bad for a 14yr old bike

But looks like my back tyre is well and truly fecked... It was just on the legal side on the tread wear markers when I left the house and it is now bald after 280miles.
