Well as I might not get to ride for a bit due to all the damn procedures they are doing to me I made myself feel better by ordering a shite pot full o' bits for the bike.....lol

It started with new gaskets so I can fit the new to me exhaust when it gets here, though I do still need to order the repacking supplies for the carbon cans.
Then I noticed that a fork seal is weeping a little bit, so new fork seals.

While I have the front end off, it's time to pull the brake system apart. I have had a weird issue for a little while now.
You can bleed the system, no problem and it will work great for a while, then all of a sudden there is a small air bubble.

This has gotten old so time to rebuild the calipers, as they were used when I got them.
So new seals and clean the pistons up along with new guide pins for the new pads

I also picked up a new set of braided lines. Yeah they say they last forever but the set I have has been on there for 15 years, so I do think it is time to retire them as they also could be the source of my issues.

I also managed to find a used C-N-R brake lever to match my clutch lever (though the adjusters are a different color) for my SP2 master cyl.
Though I do need to replace my clip ons some day so I can try out the radial master I have sitting around.

Then I found a Puig DB screen.... hey got to have a little bling and besides I still have the stock screen on there and after 16 yrs it is a bit hard to see through....lol

I also finally broke down and picked up a flo-commander..... which should make it a touch easier to get her redialed in with the new exhaust...... why do they always run so damn good right before you go to change something....lol

I also plan on installing the Gilles rear sets I have, so once everything gets here I guess I should take a pic of the pile o' bits.......

Good work Mike, hope the treatment & procedures are doing the job.

You'll soon be up & riding again & on a freshly fettled Storm to boot.

That's better, it's such a shame that the fairing has to be trimmed for the bar risers. :( I guess this is where it's worth paying for Hellbars, I don't think they require trimming the fairing, but I'm not sure if they raise them quite as high.

Finally got around to changing the oil and filter in mine today. It desperately needed doing I could feel it on the gearbox/clutch and hear it in the engine sounds that the old oil had lost it's properties and needed changing. I'm a bit naughty for leaving it this long :eek2

looks like you have dropped the forks a long way down in the yoke to avoid the bars and master cyl...........that will have a dramatic effect on how the bike tips into the corner

yes i have  i dropped the forks approx 15mm some people would find that way to far as it slows the drop-in quite a lot but for me and my riding style i love it

Honestly, this putting forks up and down in the yokes malarky, it makes such a minute change to the geometry, unless you are Shaky or Lowes, I don't think you could tell the difference, I tried it on my Fazer and it didn't make a blind bit of difference, I understand the physics, but you are making a microscopic change to the head angle, it's negligible.

I realise I have just said something that we are not allowed to say, but I stick by it, and I thoroughly believe people who go 'yeah, wow, it transformed the bike' are talking from their butt because it's what's expected for them to say. I am interested in real world tuning, not make believe!
