unless you are Shaky or Lowes
It could get a bit Shaky at high speeds or even Lowes at slow speed.

Subtle changes is what I would call it.

Have to say I'm in agreement with matty on this. A lot of the adjustments made to the bikes are a load of tosh.
Anyway, today I painted my wheels and original belly pan in 2k black gloss. Also done a bit more prep on my big tank ready for transplant in the next week or so.

Are colour changes and increasing fuel rang ' unnecessary Mods' ????

i did write one, but decided to put the fire out.......... bottom line it is each to their own, but I could tell you if your bike had a 3mm shock spacer just by riding it

Not sure if it is just me but wouldn't adding bar risers and lowing the bike down the forks contradict itself? Wouldn't you have been better getting some later model clip ons and bringing them to the top of the forks? Or am I missing something in my tired state?

Your missing something. The height of your bars is separate from the height of the forks in the yokes. Changing the height of the forks moves the angle of the frame/headstock up and down so you changing the geometry of the bike.

Raising the bars changes your body position & pulling the forks up changes the bikes geometry.

Both changes should be a positive for comfort & performance ;)

Snap! :D

Sorry I was thinking more about weight on wrists ect. Not geometry.

Well yeh raising the bars and lowering the forks (raising through yoke) sought of counteracts each other. So from that point yes but you could always raise the bars even more. Ape bars should do the trick

I agree that for a lot of riders +4mm here & -4mm there will make diddly squat of difference but for a few, it would indeed 'transform' setup-A from setup-B.

The changes would have positive effects on comfort but negative on performance.....it would make it more like a chopper

it would make it more like a chopper
Now that would require sticking a gear stick in the middle of your tank.

Pulling the forks up through the clamps would be a positive... I didn't mean the other way... That would be Raleigh Chopper-esq! :D

If you look at the pictures we are talking about the forks are dropped in the yoke to clear the bars, that's what we are talking about....well it's what I am talking about
