looking forward to putting my mind at rest and getting the CCTs done, wouldnt mind doing the shims, never done them on a bike, only on car heads, which is a total different world to doing them on a bike with the engine on it.

I'm coming from Purfleet so if anyone want to me up with me round these part then were sort something out.

Beforehand loosen your alternator inspection caps, as their cheesey nature can come to grief- if so get some new uns from David Silvers. Get along early with two manual CCTs, tools etc and grab a spot in the sunny back garden, as there's a couple three bikes needing similar work done.

Read up in advance on the procedure in the How-To in the workshop knowledge-base, Tools needed basic tool kit i.e socket set inc allen sockets, extender bars, spanners, screwdrivers, loctite, cable ties. and if you're planning on also fitting a carb balancing adapter one of them to fit on the front cylinder and some hose to fit on. Somebody will be on hand to guide you at the interesting stages.

Planing to meet with a few bods at Brook Street services M25 J28. About 8-8.30 for a coffee & fuel up leaving about 9 ish, then head up the A12, it's on your way unless your going A13 /A130 in which case it isn't.

I'm up for this day sound's like fun.

As my bike is running a bit rough, a bit of coughing and backfiring, the only thing I intend on doing possibly to my bike is to give it a bit of a tune up, insert some Iridium plugs and get my carbtune out to sync carbs and sort my mixture out.

Not done it on a VTR before, so expert eyes and guidance will be most appreciated. I need to Dynojet my carbs but that's for another day but at least I will know how to re-sync my carbs by then. Just got to get a brass 5mm bolt thingy, t-piece and extra tubing for the engine side of things as my carbtune does not have these with it. What other tools do you suggest I bring along? I want to bring as little as poss as I will only have a small rucksack on my back. I don't fancy strapping my Snap On box on the bike as I think that would be way toooooo heavy    and the bike drinks enough juice without the extra weight.

I shall also bring my stills camera along and take some pics for the forum, coffee powder (I take it you got a kettle) and some biccies :shh: and as it's Easter maybe some chocki-woki, mmmmm. Shall I bring a cup/mug along as well, I expect you may be short of them.

Bigspanishmarty tony.mon & MacV2 I'm up for meeting at the Brook Street Services ready to leave at 9.00ish. If the weather is gonna be anything like last April we will have a heatwave. Last April was our 2 weeks worth of Summer!

Cheers (:-})

No but I have installed the map into MACNAV.

Oh & you may want to PM Bazza as he may have CCT's in his pocket on the workshop day, I believe RoaS is a bit behind on production due to health issues.

That'll be J28.

You'll have a quiet day otherwise, sitting around at Redhill waiting.....and waiting.....

But you won't hear it over the exhaust noise
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

sorry to hijack,

just seen the pictures of the previous workshop day. looks like a load of fun!!!

was there a video at all of all the storms all fires up? i can only imagine what that part of the country must have thought. when my brother and i had 'storms, we fired them both up and gave them a good rev (both with remus grand prix). half the street came out.......

theres a guy on the retro rides who does something similar in bristol called area 52. all kinds of retro cars and stuff turn up to his unit which is pretty good. this workshop day stuff is such an awesome idea.
