Can't be there, family commitments and a bit far but I love the idea of the Workshop Days. If there's a Midlands one I'll be in! It will be nice to meet some of you guys and firkle with engines.

(My CCT gaskets should arrive next week from David Silver, so I'll be having a little workshop day on my own doing stopper mod - that is if I get any peace from my loving family who'll want carting about as it's Bank Holiday :( )

Have fun :D

Sorry I havent been round so much, been exceptionally busy.

I messed up on my rotation of shifts, I am on nights next week, and my steward is trying to get me a late shift Friday, but workshop day is on regardless :D.

Gonna have some food and drink out, but no beer.

As for a rideout, saturdays are pretty much a waste of time round my way, traffice is mental around Lakeside but if it was Sunday a ride out to high beach would have been a must.

Mongrel ??? How dare you Gramps!

I'll have you know that 'Ole Red is a thoroughbred through & through, not a shred of fake carbon fibre to be seen.

Having said that better a mongrel than a Window Licking Mong blue thing.

As for Murv, no I haven't heard from him Kev, either too many fruit smoothies on his birthday or he is still sitting at the side of a puddle drowning worms somewhere....or possibly on holiday, he was off camping somewhere with the family IIRC.

He's already camper than a boy scout jamboree, he surely can't get any worse?
May I ask who you were referring to with regard to the fake carbon comment? Nothing fake on my Taihitian Blue beauty mate, just like it's owner!!!
I think you'll find Mong is a shade created by mixing Red & Black panels on the same machine!!

I fully retract the fake carbon comment as I realise I have a FC yoke cover covering the scratches on mine....sorry.

However a true mongrel is a cross between two species, correct ?

All the panels on mine are from a Firestorm. (inbreeding maybe, pass the banjo..)

I believe the forks on yours are Blade forks, therefore from a different species of bike & therefore a true mongrel.

Before you come back with a Blade being a Honda & therefore not a different species you still going down the inbreeding route with that one, it will always be more mongrel than 'Ole Red.

You will find that the finest pedigree's are improved by bringing in the finer genes from the breed, as in the Blue beauty. Now sometimes these genetic experiments result in retarded, needy freakish things, often multi coloured and with other issues, stunted riders, oops sorry, limbs, and with limited function.
Obviously these comments are not directed toward any individual, Mac!!!!

Alsations, lovely dogs, bred to keep that snarling bitey viciousness that makes a good guard dog, suffer with terrible hip problems & arthritis when they get old.....

Bulldogs, not such a nice dog IMO, but suffer with breathing probs due to the same inbreeding which make them a pedigree in the first place!

So pedigree, bringing in the finer genes from the breed & also a few of the dodgy ones as well, it's not all that it's cracked up to be really is it?

Wasn't Dr Mengele interested in pedigree?

Oh & finally, show me a bike on this forum that is bog standard, as it came out of the crate, pure breed Honda.......I think you will struggle Sir & that in truth you are labelling all the Storms owned buy members of this here fine forum as Mongrels.

I prefer to think of mine as a creation, a bit like Frankenstein & his creation, you may think it's ugly, to it's creator a thing of beauty, that is until it attacked him & smashed his head in.......

Not that many hills around here Carl, so hillbilly's out.

There is a marsh behind me gaff, so Marsh-monster maybe but it sounds a bit to much like marshmallow.

May have to re christen 'Ole Red...Mackenstein's Monster......

Less than a week to go. Can we have an updated list of who's going and what jobs are planned please. I need to know what tools I may have to bring along! Is Mr Mon gonna be there for this one?

I believe that Professor Mon is busy that particular weekend & will not be partaking in the joys of Purfleet.

Something about washing his hair (singular) or chickens but probably not his bike, nah I think a festival is in the air.....

Nope, just got back tonight from the Beautiful Days festy organised by the Levellers, down on Devon.
Lovely it was, too.

Might drop by, got a few things to do first so I won't be there all day, though.
You'll manage fine without me.

Just remember; righty-tighty, lefty loosey.......
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
