Nice meeting you Lee, good to see you again Marty & Carl. Very nice rolls, coffee (& bread pudding). If the weather holds we'll have to do those roads again soon

Bread pudding was lovely and fresh, still warm from the oven. And they make very good coffee too.

That was an evasive manoeuvre when I came along side you Kev, and then my bike jumped out of gear :eek2 Went to go and the bike just revved  I need to get a new front tyre really soon, it's started to effect my braking and stopping distance.

Hope you didn't have to hang behind the old bill for too much longer after we turned off.

Yeah I thought it best to keep some distance, what with all the noise. I had my baffles under the seat but didnt know about you lot.

Days like today make me realise how good the old Storm can be when you wind up the wick a bit, even in short bursts. Is there much else thats really that much more fun, at least in the real world, and on the road.

Just want better range and I'm all set !!

Carl, no worries fella. Fully agree lovely bread pudding at Mrs Miggins Baked goods emporium! Lloydie you wanted a photo mate-

Lee I got past the first one on the approach to the North Weald market/aerodrome roundabout, got past all the traffic in front of him to find a combine. Got about a mile of open road and then came up behind another bill Volvo estate through Harlow. Luckily he turned off before Gates and I went out to Sawbo and down the lanes.
The Storm has all the punch in the right place for those roads. I sruggle to think of a better bike for grins per mile.
How's this for weird 137.2 miles on the trip, one bar on the dash an it's been flashing for 14 miles. Went and filled up and it took........13.5 litres!! I love the weirdness. Great bike.

i reckon your fuel sender thingy majig must be bent carl, because your fuel warning light is coming on to soon, when you next fill upmake sure you brim the tank, then check how many litres you have used, i filled up in east london and my warning light isn't on yet and my bikes running like a pig compared to yours.
i reckon that long spindly thing in the petrol tank need adjusting buddy...

You may be right marty, but I have a feeling the diaphragm in my petcock could be at fault and overfueling. It's something I would like to check.service as it's not been touched since I got the bike.

Carbs, Mmm, she's running well but there is no need for a choke on it's first start of the day so maybe it is a little rich. I may try dropping the mains, but in all honestly I need to put it on a dyno and have a look.

My current carb set is as follows:
K&N
Front carb
180 main
48 pilot
needle clip 4nd from the bottom
A/F 2.0 turns out
standard emulsion tube

Rear carb
182 main
48 pilot
needle clip 3nd from the bottom
Added 20thou Shim
A/F 2.5 turns out

I may abandon the K&N and put the BMC Street filter back in. The bike seemed to like it when I had that in, it just need re-oiling first.
