Out taking the fairing off, now sold.
I have a newer, cleaner one to go on.
Still yellow, though!
Looked at indicator mirrors, decided to treat myself to a new set. Also flush front indicators, when I find some I like.
Not a bad start to Christmas morning.
Now to do a few presents with kiddies- they've been waiting long enough, glued to the patio door asking how long I'll be......

Two smokers great fun and so simple
I took my old rg250 gammer engine apart when I was 17 and rebuilt it and it ran even though the pistons were out of a kawk and I had to file ten mm of the bottom of both pistons
To clear the crank .
Love the smell of decent two stroke oil when I follow one

Today?
I finished stripping a storm for parts, tried some SP1 parts to see how much work it would take to fit the heads and/or cams to a Storm.....Too much!
Cam tunnel's on the wrong side, and cam journal diameter is different.
Not insurmountable, but it would be easier to shoehorn a complete SP1 lump in, tbh.
Still, all parts already sold now waiting to be paid for and shipped, or collected.
All other parts into the stock shed awaiting new owners...
Snapped a 3/8 to 1/4 adaptor, trying to undo a 14mm head bolt. Luckily I had been given a new set of six point sockets for Christmas!
Tidied the garage, floor area, anyway, so that I can get the last manual CCT fit of the year in there tomorrow.
Then broke a complete spare engine, as I needed the front head for Rob.
And went through my box of lovely new parts waiting to be fitted to mine, when I have a minute, to plan what needs to go on in which order.
It's tempting to pull the motor out of mine while the weather's still not yet great, so that I can get stuck in to this winter's engine rebuild. On the other hand, I want to keep the bike rideable, so if (like today) there was a dryish, not too cold hour or two I could get out.....
And ordered some shiny new screen nuts, and Ti bolts for the Braking dscs I have acquired.
That's probably enough, and I've done enough to have earnt a beer

got up, dry roads, 13c, bike gear on and went out for a good boxing day blat!!! and very nice to see + three figures on the speedo (private roads of course)

washed it then was going to go for a blast.Then realised I should have glued the renthal grips on slippy as f*ck
So waiting on busters delivering the glue now

+1 works great...lubrcates when liquid, the glues when it sets

Took it out for a good ride to bed the new front brakes in ,
Wow the cbr600f4i brakes are a massive improvement

Went out today as well, should have tried to hook up with you when I was out mate.
Was good to test the mods I did last few weeks and although I did 3 changes at once, so don't know what effect each had on there own, I can surely say that together the bike is feeling seriously punchy.
I did the stick coils, the billet hrc intake trumpets and fitted a new quick action throttle tube.....wow, I had to recalibrate because I was getting everywhere that bit faster than I thought....thankfully I have already sorted my brakes, because I had to use them today
2 things are clear......
1) if you have got to know the storm and are not a novice rider, you should all fit the quick action throttle...there is very little loss of low speed control, and no problem in the roads when I did have to tiptoe through dark leaf covered lanes today, but the positive effect of making the full power of the engine and all the rev range access able is so dramatic, you will wonder why you didn't do it yes ago!

£30 and don't bother with the more expensive kit which comes with longer cables. Just remove the 1st lock nut on the pull side cable down on the carb, and that give you just enough extra for the standard cable to work perfectly. You should even be able to reuse your grips if you put a screw driver up from the bottom and squirt in some wd40.
2). The new trumpets change the intake roar so it sounds like it wants to suck the hedges into the air box as you give it full stick through the midrange. Very addictive
So all in all a fun couple of hrs, and only 1 rear slide as i got back on the gas comming out of a bend to remind me to slow down, and that it is December!

yesterday i fitted some ferodo platinum hh pads all round on the sp1 and took it for a spin.. managed to get the back wheel in the air and a bit of smoke off the front tyre, plus a bit of poo in my new tigger undies :/
very good pads indeed. highly recommended. i got a full set for £35 at the nec show but they are currently on sale at ghostbikes.co.uk at very good prices.
today.....
i had a count up what £ i had left & thought balls to it.. went and bought another ped lol
its a peugot speedfight1 in urban camo with malossi tranny, complete engine rebuild with full circle 18,000rpm crank & bearings, ported pollini barrel & piston, 80cc, leo vinci exhaust, tnt 24mm induction kit with carbon fibre reeds, race clutch, variator, kevlar belt, race cdi & coil etc - dyno'd at 16 1/2 bhp and tops out at 74mph lol
needs a bit of tlc to perfect it like but everythings been done including (leading link)fork rebuild, shocker, pads, battery, seat recovered, wheels powder coated, frame powder coated, brand new pirelli sport tyres...
i'll probably be carbon wrapping the bodywork so watch this space....
