Hmmm Harris quality!



Out of interest I weighed both sets of pipes complete with all fittings nuts & bolts Harris weighed in at 3kg the standard pipes 9kg!

Finally fitted sounds sweet, don't think my neighbours think the same mind!

top job buddy, just got to do the front mudguard now, you should post a video so we can all hear how the harris cans sound, nice welds on that link pipe aswell......

Tis done Marty, just giving it a couple of weeks to harden right off before a polish & fitting. Also got an undertray,mindicators & tail tidy to fit + a spare pair of forks to revamp & fit. Oh when will it end?

Did try to get a vid via me telephonic device but it didn't want to load on to me pc for some reason.

I did however phone Tony Mons up so he could here them.

It went to answer phone.

So I left him a 4000rpm mesage.

mate just looked again at the before pics, you can't even see those lovely welds because they were so dirty, seriously tho, they now look that good they must be worth another £75 of anyones money, mind you you might have used that much on polish....

A combination of wet 'n' dry, a polishing kit on the grinder, Meguiars & elbow grease did the trick.

Was gonna ride it when finished but didn't want to get it dirty!

Have now worked out how to vid on me camera but it will have to wait for another day.

Every time I start it the neighbours think it's an approaching air raid!

Bit of both Toonarmy, bought a polishing kit to go on a 6'' grinder from Machine Mart, that gets the worst of it off then a bit more elbow grease.

decided to knock up a set of manual cct's ready for the imminent arrival of the new steed (more to follow on that next week )

I know they are round rather than oval but they the total cost of them will be whatever it costs me for a pair of slightly longer carriage bolts (wonder if i can get stainless ones?)

i notice yours are oval at the end the ones bazza supplys are just flat(normal bolt shape)which the end cap dont fit on do i have need to worry as it just seems a bit low budget like some ones knocked it up in a shed.just seems the automatic ones are of better quality?or i have i no need to panic?

No need to worry, i thought about doing the same tbh and thought about using the old end caps but was to lazy to fart about with it so just going to order the carriage bolts, my old bike was running using just a bolt head for a couple of years no worrys. and as for low budget mine are as low as it gets lol and they were knocked up in a corner of a shed

Coach Bolt conversion = A few quid OEM Automatic tensioner = A few hundred quid to fix potential top end damage

Bolt head is fine; it just sits fairly squarely on the back of the tensioner blade, so any radius or polish is just wasted effort. And can't be seen.

Stainless is much better, like the ones Bazza fits.
