I always take mine to a car dealership and have it done and have never had a problem.

My idea is that they don't see many bikes and are not up to speed with bike laws.

Also our laws vary from state to state.

For instance my bike would not pass in Queensland because of the light, fenderectomy and mufflers, but it is all legal in my state.

Can I ride in Queensland?

Yes I can because the bike is legally registered in my state.

Sometimes living in the antipodes is good!,
Strange laws mate

I read in Queensland every mod has to be declared and checked over. :eek2 I suppose the advantage of having a country divided up into States is that you can go to anther state and have things done and then ride in another without any problems. I think they have even stricter laws than us in in OZ but they are easier to bend.

I watch mighty car mods when which is in Oz every time they have a new episode, the police are very active and keep on top of the modders, you get heavily fined for modifying things like air intakes and exhausts, also import laws are very strict from what i remember

I would hate to have it so strict here i like the freedom we have

There is a fair bit of nudge nudge wink wink goes on here in Oz.

Our Policing is very much focused on revenue raising, so if you follow the rules regarding the roads you can get away with a fair bit.

Most coppers are pretty fair, although from time to time the EPA(Environmental Protection Agency) will pull you and noise test your bike.

That can be a drama!!!!

Years ago I got done on my Duc and got a defect.

Had to fit standard pipes to get a pass to go back on the road and a hefty fine as well!

Main problem areas are towns and cities, but outside these areas almost anything goes within reason.

Made some changes to the airbox and breathers, new plugs and took it out for a rainy test. Started making strange noises :? ... given me something to do this afternoon I suppose :)

Got my self a new visor insert the one in my arai has been better days, i left the visor in a bowl of soapy fairly washing water... it made the visor inset go cloudy

so got a new one, a reactive one, as my riding is 50/50 day and night during the week it can be a pain switching visors over so hopefully this will be a good compromise

Also don't know how anyone without a visor insert copes took it out and was instantly reminded how sh1t a single skin visor is with the fogging

Looking forward to seeing some pics of those shiny 6 spokes Amqc

Seb, I've been told by a few people that the pr4's aren't necessarily a replacement for the pr3's, as the pr4's are a harder compound and heavier/stiffer carcass for the big touring bikes.

I'm guessing you ride the Gixxer pretty hard at times, maybe the slightly grippier pr3's are worth considering, they've come down to £214 now too :)

I've just ordered some pr3's for my Euro trip
