technically I never owned it.....
as long as you keep your headers in that condition, I think the naked look suits the black bike....
when are you putting your frame protectors on carl?

they shouldn't rub, you should check to see if your fairing bracket is bent?
I have spares if needs be....

It may have been the sticky pads I used on them pushing them outwards more. I'm still going to take a tad of the fairing as it's too close to the frame for my liking anyway.

Looks fantastic Carl
love the SP1-2 style cans on this, it's something I'd like to do with mine, how is it achieved ? modified SP exhaust/link pipes ? my Microns are 450mm long but these look longer how long are they ?

Sp1 links are closer to the 90 degree bend on the left side, same as the Storm. SP2 (which I have) is a 45 degree and a lot more work. I ended up cutting my header pipe where it comes around and out slightly shorter and cutting the end (the bend) off my Arata link :eek2 Still sad about that but it was fun angle grinding TI  I then used 90 degree mandrel in-between the two.

The right hand side should not be a problem and will fit straight on. But you also have the issue of hanging brackets to fit. SP brackets are not a straight swap as the distance between mounting holes is different.

thanks for the link, it's very helpfull
so in a nut shell the O/S (rh) pipe is no problem butit's the N/S (lh) that causes the problem, if I understand it correctly the angle on the O/S link pipe is to shallow ie 45degrees rather than 90, so I'm I correct in thinking it doesn't matter whether you use SP1 or SP2 pipes as that angle will need changing regardless, I had limited my search to SP1 pipes because I was told that the SP2s were more work but if I'm going to have to cut the end off the link pipes and replace it, it shouldn't matter whether it's from an SP1 or SP2.
It seems to my the main issues you had fitting yours is because they were Titanium and hence difficult to weld making a cut and shut problematic, if I stick to less exotic stainless welding on a 90 degree bit of pipe will be pretty straight forward I've got a pal who's sh*t hot with a Tig so welding won't be an issue.
Re hangers, I've some off cuts of dural alloy sheet left over from when I made the sump guard for my rally car which with a bit of patience I should be able to knock into hanger shape, looks I best start looking for some SP pipes

Your right the TI did add an extra element of difficulty, also the smooth taper on my links. I don't know for sure as I have not tried an SP1 link but it may more or less fit straight on apart from the diameter, as the angles look the same as the Storm, whereas the SP2 is way off. But like you say if your prepared to cut the end off, it's straight forward enough to have a 90 degree made up to fit, especially if Stainless, but this does mean an extra clamp then unless welded. Best to go with a smaller diameter to fit inside rather than larger going over the outside IMO as this gives a few more mm clearance between the link and chain.

The right hand side link is hardly an issue as the angle is good with a twist on the link. I trimmed a few mm of the header outlet on mine to get both links coming out the same distance rearward and clamped straight on.

The other thing to note is that when upswept like that, they are awfully close to touching the bottom side of the swingarm on both sides. Also the heal clearance on the rearsets. Better if you have them raised a tad as having the pegs lower and/or more rearward touches the links. For the upswept look I prefer SP cans as the outlet is pointing in the right direction therefore no rain gets in, well...minimal, when the bike is sitting around and not running. I'm sure this make a bit of difference aerodynamically as well with the exhaust flow directed more rearward rather than upwards. The extra length of the can should give a little bit more bottom end too.

Oh...and say goodbye to pillions or panniers.

cheers for the info, fitting a reducer collar to the SP1 link seems the easiest option but as you say stainless is not problem to weld so even if a different radius bend is required I can tack one on myself then get it welded properly.

can't remember the last I carried a pillion so that's not an issue, plus it a good excuse for the wife NOT to come with me (I'd stuggle to keep the front wheel on the ground :D )

there are a few SP1 exhausts on ebay at the mo so I've got them on my watch list, I'd prefer aftermarket rather than OE sinply for the weight reduction and it doesn't seem a massive difference in price so let the search begin
