rear brake calipers

hi guys just got a mate helping put new wheels etc on bike and when taking rear caliper off a U shaped thin bracket dropped off from caliper/pad area somewhere it looks like it should space the pads but can,t see where it goes any ideas please!!!

see my post m8.....i had same thing as you...it sits on the flat bit of the caliper bracket..

wot date am i lookin for can you remember, doen't look like it does ought put them back on without it at mo and seems to work but not road tested yet!!

yeah i refitted mine without the clip thingymabob...worked fine, but once i found the schematic site all became clear, and took all of 2 mins to refit..
