SP1 clocks on the firestorm

Post by genisis »

Hi All,

A bit of a random question but do you think the SP1 dash will fit on the Firestorm.

I've check the basic functions and they are the same oil light fuel light etc

cheers

I have often wondered whether this is possible as i would like the sp1 dash. The vtr one is all electric but i am sure that there is a stumbling block somewhere that prevents the conversion from being done. Will have to look into this one.

I'd kinda doubt it. With the SP's being injected, they have all sorts of electrickery on board as it is and the dah will likely tie into those.

It could be possible to make it work, but its probably a lot of hassle. Why would you bother?

Seriously, a proper nice race dash that looks nicer, has more functionality and will be way easier to plumb in can be had for same money as a second hand SP dash.

Acewell, Trailtech and Racelogic are 3 off the top of my head.

Either PM or email Daz (Stormsmasher) he should be able to advise you on if it's worth doing or not :!:

I tried and failed mate spent ages messing but still could not get all the functions to work.

If I remember right I managed to get the speedo and all the warning lights to work but could never get the rev counter to work and the temp gauge was wrong but that could be fixed if you managed to find a way of fitting an SP-1 temp sender unit to the VTR.

Hope this helps

FSM slightly off beam, if you're referring to the 'Guinness' fightered Storm, he had all of it working apart fom the rev counter as Daz has also mentioned managing.

I only know cos I e-mailed him to ask him at the time.
