Super cold weather affecting electrics?
Super cold weather affecting electrics?
I don't think that any motorbike or rider for that matter likes the cold. The reason i ask is because I've never owned this type of bike during the winter before. Im pretty sure it cant be normal for any bike anyway.
Firstly while riding over the tops in freezing conditions both needles on the dials fell to zero and intermittently rose and fell to the correct place. Then when using the indicators when the green light flashed the little millage display flashed on and off at the same time! Then after that everything died, just switched it off at home and left it.
Ideas anyone?

To be honest i think the battery could do with replacing. I rode it about 200 miles one week with out the lights and it started on the button. How ever a few days later it was back to the jump leads again. When it went funny the other day i had already rode about 30 miles so i would of though the battery would of been charging up after that time??
i had the indicator /dash light thing going on with mine when i first got it, new battery sorted it out, and now she is always plugged into a optimate.

Most bike shops/any business really tend to operate under the he/she who rings up the most and generally gets on yer wick get the job attended to first. Not fair but proven a fact.
Sounds like a 'once a day' call to check progress type affair!!!

Well i got my bike back. Fancy new rectifier, with a heat sink and everything and a new speedo sensor.
Had a blast down the motorway lovely everything is working, get to Bury town center and put it into the back of this womans car, after she did an emergency stop. Guess i was too close. No matter. Not a lot of damage just a banana shaped clutch and a broken indicator.
Still some days. Don't you just love life
