Help my storm will not run

Post by Atkinspa »

Having installed a stage 1 dynojet kit, the bike starts and idles fine but will not throttle. The engine just dies, or runs a rough as hell.

I have checked the carb slides and they both slide to the closed positon from fully open the same time, with out snaping shut, I assume this means the diaphrams are ok. The pilot screws oar out 2.25 turns each, and there are no other signs of leaks

Ayone got any ideas.

What pipes have you got on?.

If you are running std pipes try mix screws 1 3/4 turns out. Needles circlip on 4th groove down from the top (or 5th without bottom washer will lessen hiccup around 4k rpm if using K&N filter) and 170 main jet.

Or for best results put your hand in your pocket and get it ran up on a dyno

Do you mean in neutral and as soon as you apply any throttle it cuts out?

if so then check the obvious:

that the vacuum fuel tap is working properly.

that the choke is working properly and not open at all. Check that the outer cables are seated properly.

Del

You were right I had connected to the vacum pipe to the wrong place on the fuel tap ( that will teach to label things properly). Had it sorted on a dyno now runs great well worth the the expsense got 109BHP at the rear with 190 mains and a K&N.

Thanks all, for your help.
