i was a happy man until friday

i got paid, budgeted for £160 on tyres and pads + £30 for fitting

on my way to dk spares and clonk

chain snapped along the pin hole on one plate

CHEAP SH!T TRIPPLE S CHAIN - do not buy one!!!!! 6 months it lasted

now before people start saying how they will never buy a cheap chain just realise that not everyone is financially afluent. the best is the best you can afford.

anyway

i got it to DK spares. after labour ( an hour was £100 ) it ended up costing me £365

so im not happy

stay away from TRIPLE S chains DO NOT USE A TRIPLE S CHAIN

ive had same thing with a X ring DID chain, cracked right across one of the pins, that was on 1200 bandit with scotoiler, ive run triple s on loads of bikes with no probs, running RK chains on the storms & only adjusted once in 10,000 miles i think you get good & bad in everything.

as in tother post, like bob ive run triple s chains on loads of bikes, most making more power than the storm and had no problems, and i do high miles per year........think u need to clean urs more my last bike now jb's (tl) snapped a chain and that too was a gold did'...but we know why( wd40)

thats why i put a wink after my not cleaning remark....u probs kept it mint, what im saying is i and loads of others i know have had no issues with triple s chains....things break end of, just be gratefull it didnt wrap round front sprocket and thru u over the bars...a lad i know his a paraplegic caused be exact same thing!!........and luckily for me when my gold did snapped, 1 hour earlier id been doing well of ton with our lass on back

all I can say is sh!t happens..

went 90 miles o buy a Harley on behalf of my son, rode it back home 80-90 up the M4 no problem , pulled onto the dual carriageway 2 miles stopped at lights, gently dropped the clutch when the lights changed as there were cars in front , .......... and I just stood still.

belt had broken! cars behind swerving past me.
lucky I was a short push from a lock up I was renting.
£180 for a new belt from Riders.
my first experience of belt drive, but had it happened on the M4 earlier who knows.
on the other hand Ive picked up many chains while marshalling at race meetings, still prefer a chain to belt.
