Your best tips!

Post by Dazjm »

Stripping bike right down, gonna rebuild cleaning/polishing each bit as i go. With hopefully some simple mods.

Purpose of this thread, (if anyone cba), is for you to enlighten us with a snippet of invaluable info, wether its a certain product, or a time saving gem, etcetc.

cheers Daz

P.S. saying "dont wipe ur butt with a broken bottle" isnt a relevant tip!

I have always used belgom alu on alloy parts, less work than autosol, with a better result! Also autoglym metal polish a close 2nd.

Top Tips:

Ride the bloody thing.
Fix it when it breaks.
I've done more damage fiddling with something that was working ok than any other reason.

Oh, and if you go everywhere flat out it saves having to look out for traffic from the rear.

Only clean the bits you can see when sitting on it. The rest is someone else's problem.

Fit loud cans. Funny how the worrying little noises disappear....

Get a mate to tell you not to worry whenever you're tempted to, and do the same for him or her.

Time spent polishing is wasted rideout time. You'll only get to the meet to find someone's just got a brand new RC8 or MV and it'll all be wasted anyway.

Don't look on E-=bay. it'll only make you dissatisfied with what you alreeady have.

Never look at prices for bits. Just hand them your credit card. If you like it and want it it's worth it.

And don't listen to advice from others. Make your own mind up. if you like rim tape and bar-end tassles- go for it.

Ayup- - I've come over all metaphorical. Time for more beer.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Get a job where you earn pots of cash then any mistakes can be solved by throwing money at them

1. Buy good cans
2. Buy good tyres
3. Keep the downpipes clean (looks shite with one rusty pipe sticking out the front)
4. Buy a lower fairing
5. Buy a red bike
Ride every oportunity you can.

IMO always buy a genuine Honda oil filter and good quality oil when servicing :!: Skimping here could cost you big time later on :!:
