98db - I'm pretty sure the standard cans aren't far off this and I reckon 99% of race cans will be over it.

The MIG's I had were the loudest cans I had, more than Blue Flame and more than my custom made ones.

Depends how they measure it - what engine speed, how far away etc. You could find out what method they use and test it yourself?

Ebay for "Noise Meter" brings up plenty for £15-£20. Probably worth it if you plan on a lot of restricted track days or have 2 or 3 mates who can chip in a fiver.

Saves you getting refused and having to kick off in the hopes of getting some money back.

Yep way over the Db limit IMO, I have seen much quieter bikes turned away so didnt even try with the Storm

Just out of curiosity, why do they have a 98db limit?

Health and safety?

Most circuits it is environmental problems like people who move into big houses near famous race circuits then complain about the noise!!!
Brands H and Thruxton to name but two.

They measure it stationary at the rear of the bike not more than a couple of feet away at 5000rpm.I took the baffles out of my road legal Beowulfs & they measured 102 db (was a 105db limit day).On a 98db day with the baffles in i'd be cringing 8O 8O
Cheers
