Here's how to make one...

http://www.vtwo.demon.co.uk/firestorm/firestorm.htm

I'm going to make myself a couple of 3 mm ones for when I put my new shock on next week.

There are usually made ones on ebay for about a fiver as well.

Shaun's spacers are NEARLY right
However, to fit them you need to remove quite a bit of the back end of the bike to get it over the bolt

I adapted the design a bit and could fit/ remove them at the roadside in minutes

Image

And FWIW I ran 4mm on the road and 6mm on track
I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!

Will these make a real big difference to the handling alan. I presume it will make the bike turn little a bit quicker :?:

Hi all,
Been looking at this on Ebay today,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-VTR1000-VTR ... .m14.l1318

Will it make much difference to the handling?
Often thought about it but never asked!!!!

curly will make bike steer and turn in quicker but depending how much you shim the shock can also effect the bike alot and the storm not having the best of front suspension can cause other problems. but stormin ben messed around with different sized shims he's prob the one to ask.

Just replaced my shock today and put a 3mm spacer in. Feels a lot higher to sit on and more weight on my arms - but i'll get used to that. Seemed really stable and turned ok but I won't know until I sort my fork seals (again!!! )

I made two and the other one is free to a good home but I didn't cut the slot in so you would have to do that or drop the shock to fit it.
