Wavey brake discs

Post by Mr_Rusty »

Hi all

I was wondering if the wavey style brake discs actually do anything to improve the braking or is it all purely for looks?

Seen some cheap and wondering if its worht the bother.

Cheers

the discs are black coated with something the suppliers say it helps against rust/ corrosion but it does come off slowly with use. the website is http://www.stealthproducts.co.uk they have a gallery and do various designs and colour inserts.
They also do chains and sprockets!!!
they also do mail order!!!

Technically they are meant to improve disc cooling and brake dispersal (cooling due to a larger surface area thanks to the waves and dust dispersal due to the radius of the curve). In reality they do bugger all other than look good....i dont see any GP bikes with waveys yet! :D

...as far as i know, im sure somebody else can give you a detailed description.
