Will a varadero top yoke fit my 97 Storm? I'm looking to do a handlebar conversion and have the opportunity to get the yoke cheaply.
If not, is it easy to drill the current top yoke and fit some handlebar clamps? If, so what should the spacing be?
I have looked at the LSL top yokes but they're £150 which is a bit pricey.
Thanks all

Hi mate , im not sure about the varadero top yoke.
It is easy to drill the standard top yoke ,no set size for spacing the clamps(risers), its just a matter of positioning them with the bars, and seeing where suits best
I placed a wee bit of roughly 6mm aluminium underneath the yoke at each side, to act as a packer ,where the nuts or bolt heads are.
You will most likely need to cut the fairing, depending on the type of risers you use, there is a type where you dont need to,a few folk on ere has used them ,but those are a bit more expensive. £60 ish.
Some people fit vfr bars if its just to raise em a bit, depending on what year of vfr,u may need to cut the fairing also.
Try doin a search on here, i think i put mine under "risers" or "flat bars" or similar, loads of people have done the mod.

Tim,
nah,not gb moto or genmar, i mean those long ones that vtrbob used ,they bolt on to the yoke, but the bars are actually mounted between yoke and tank
Rather than up ,they come back the way,to give the clearance needed between bars and fairing.
Im not sure who makes them ,but they do look dead easy to fit without any fairing mods

EDIT... decided to show the type i mean above ,,

Sorry mate,i don't.
Just a pic of risers on yoke.
With those ones i fitted ,i just kept trimming fairing with a dremmel type tool untill i got full lock either side. A bit of masking tape as a guide.
My flat bars didnt help,if i had used bars that swept back a bit i wouldn't have needed to cut so much away, although it doesnt look to bad.
If i were to do it again,i'd fit the type above (yellow bike).
Bear in mind these were angled risers i used, i had to cut a bit off the bottom or they wouldve been to high,so then i had to drill/tap fresh bolt holes .
If you do a search, "busters bars" , or risers ,i think i posted more pics at the time.
