All, the fan on my bike has stopped working which is obviously less than ideal. Before I start taking body work off etc, should it rotate freely? squeezing fingers in (ingnition off!) I can turn the blades but there is a considerable amount of resistance and I'm wondering if its just gummed up with dust/road crap etc.

If not I'll have a look at the fuses then the cabling.

thks.

Spray some WD40 around there also take off the contacts and clean up, could always put volt meater on to see if its passing voltage if it is when the engine is hot then you thou the fan is knackered. or put it direct on battery but use low ampage fuse as you don't want to blow it. Failing that, thermostat, or dodgy wiring. etc. Hope its a simple fix like a good clean.

I had the same prob as genisis, check the fuse first.
I also had a stone chip stopping it from turning and it always blew the fuse.

Bit of advice... careful when squirting something like a highly flammable liquid like WD40 into a motor that contains coils which can get red hot.

Wouldnt be the first time i've seen 'em go up in flames...
