Hi guys and gals, just had my bike running ready for tomorrows meet and noticed a clacking sort of noise coming from the engine after it had warmed up, the noise seems to drift in and out as well. Had the CCTs done about 4000miles ago, but about 2 months ago I got knocked of the Storm and it was running on its side for a few seconds before I switched it off.
Any ideas would be greatful, cheers Andy
First stop always the chain if it is the same stationary with clutch in then try to isolate whether noise emanates from front or rear cylinder could just be a downpipe blowing.

Mate that really sucks Just goes to support the manual route is the only way fwd (or bolt locked original)
Least you sussed it before the inevitable failure.

Cheers Andy
If your budget can stretch it might be worth getting some manual ones. The APE CCT's come highly recomended by several members on here and are only about 30% more expensive than honda replacements as far as im aware, plus they have sexy annodised bits so look better too! I would find the link but being a drunk student, just typing this is somewhat hard...good luck either way dude!

Eagles may soar but wombats dont get sucked into jet engines!!
I put APEs in a couple of winters ago. Only done about 6000 miles since (use the TDM for touring) but I did check the tension before Wales this year and they didn't need adjusting at all.
I have had confidence in running higher revs in lower gears and shutting the throttle off without worrying about the CCT failing.
