Hi all,

I Recently swaped my 02 zx636 for an 02 firestorm after doing a bit of research, I decided to take the plunge into twin world! I guess i didn't do enough as ive discovered i actually have a late registered 00 model

I wish I had found this forum before i swapped although i am enjoying the torque

. Im not sure if i should thank or curse you as after some reading here (and me being slightly paranoid) i've purchased 2 new cam tensioners and a yamaha R1 rectifier (prevention better than cure, is that a rattle i hear? lol) also i had two osram bulbs from old bike both blew within a few miles (not fun at dusk on the way home!) anyway have all the bits for a good service and some preventative maintenance lol, so if the indian summer does arrive should be able to enjoy the storm before winter

anyway hi to you all and thanks for the advice

ps spent an hour in the garage with a dremmel and the seat comes off easily now

was driving me crazy lol

what colour is your Storm I had a Teal one which was an 02 which was a late registered 00 model

too late for you, but i unbolted the 2 hooks from under the seat,it helps a lot

It is a teal one guess they had a load left as its not the best colour

i was contemplating a respray over the winter as i have a compressor, should be interesting all i have to do is decide on a colour lol. I may buy some panels to practice on first though

as for the seat i ground off the lip on the hooks and extended the slot on the catch plate back to the bar
