feeling good! (wheelie thread!!)
feeling good! (wheelie thread!!)
Been out tonight and managed to hold the front wheel up through second and third putting it down at over 110mph.
Also nearly got the hang of stand ups in first.
Whats the furthest/fastest anyones done so far?
(I like a challenge!)

I wish I could claim to have done a proper wheelie at all.
About a month back I wobbled out onto Cadwell for my first track day and I think Im proud to say that I pulled my first wheelie over the mountain on lap1, although it was obviously nothing to do with me!
Would love to know how its done, whats the recipe?

I once accelerated hard to avoid a car pulling out, and the front felt strange, like I had a flat tyre. The bars went all funny and I could turn them without changing my direction at all !! Then they wrenched back to normal. This was most disconcerting, as the dealer had said these bikes were reliable and user friendly. It has happened a couple of times since, only when I turn the throttle backwards quite sharply. Should I take my bike back to the shop???
Cheers.

Thought you were selling your bike??
Anyway, first signs are that it has done the trick. No more changing down to 1st for tight corners and less slipping of the clutch through traffic.
The speedo is noticably out hence the fitting of a cycle computer last week!
I would definetly recomment giving it a go. The top speed will be much lower but on the road that's a good thing in my book!

Did you have to modify chain?
Hi Guys. I'm new to the board. I purchased my Superhawk in March, 2001 and have been searching for a discussion board since then. THis is very cool.
Two questions.
Did you have to modify your chain for the 15t replacement?
Also, are the VTR front sprockets the same as a 900RR?
Thanks
-Ben

WHEELIES
COOL !
Where do you find roads empty and straight enough ? I always stop when I see a car coming because there are enough sad muppets out there that would get a lot of pleasure in giving my reg to the police.
I decided not to wheelie the VTR because I tend to destroy fork seals and head bearings. On the bright side I have a KTM especially to do wheelies etc.
My bro took a video of me hoiking the fornt end up on the KTM just after I got it in December. If anyone can tell me how, I will post it on the site.
Do you manage to balance or are you having to constantly accelerate ?
I am getting better and can now balance it for quite a way in 4th at about 70 - 80 mph. (On private roads of course !!!)

wheelies!
hello,
i'm new and maybe i don't understand you brits, but, i thought EVERONE could put up a wheelie, and as important, everone wanted to!!
we have a crew of about 10 bikes, and that's all we do...wheelies and endo's. we go to the industrial park at night (great wide roads, and street lamps) and have a good ole time. lately we've had an audiance also.
we've made video's and on the freeway, we have a chaser in a car with a camera.
quite a site when you see 6 bikes pull it up on the freeway at 70-110 mph,
changing lanes and passing startled auto drivers.
enjoy, and work on those wheelies,
peace-out!
chris

Re: wheelies!
Ah, you gave the game away there. So you like riding in a straight line then??skoks21 wrote: and on the freeway, we have a chaser in a car with a camera.

Over here, because our country is very small, we have lots of things called corners. You should try them some time!
