Losing clutch fluid???

Post by rst steve »

Seem to be losing some clutch fluid. As the bike has been off the road for a while i have noticed that the clutch fluid is slowly going down in the resovoir. Remember a thread on here about it a while ago but can't find it. If i remember correctly its a seal behind the front sprocket cover. Can anyone shed some light on the subject. :D

Mine slowly went - so I replaced the seal but it still continued slowly leaking. On closer inspection the the slave cylinder was scored. Wet&dried and polished out the scores which stopped the leak. Just to be sure I bought a second-hand low milage Blackbird slave unit for a fiver from eblag - put the new seal in that and clutch is as good as new.

Easy peasy - 8mm socket, a jam jar, small hose, new fluid, spanner for bleed nipple and you're away
