Need to pick some brains

Got a handling issue
Is probably just fine-tuning of the suspension that’s needed so not one of my strong points unfortunately

When I turn in for a bend (neutral throttle) the bike feels like it’s tucking in at the front a little and i have to push the inside bars. “Was thinking either increase preload or damping????” but not cretin

Open up the throttle and it stabilizes but then the back seems to squirm on the power to the left (feels like the engine is managing to pull the swing arm) power off and the opposite squirm is felt. “This is probably just me trying to make sense of what i'm feeling through my arse” but the squirms there. Possibly too much squat increase slow speed damping or preload???

All the wheel bearings are good with no play same as the swing-arm and no lose bolts on the frame. Straight line stability is good can take my hands of the bars with no problem and the bike tracks straight but do’s squirm on and off power just a little

Static sag and rider sag are set as usual

What tyres are you running?
I've got something similar (front end wise) on three-quarters worn Michelin Pilot Roads.

Maybe it's the front tyre?

If I put more pressure in the turn-in problem goes away, but with wet leaves and greasy/soon-to-be-icy conditions I certainly don't want to be on too-hard front pressures....

Rear-
Have you cheked/greased the rear dogbones lately?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Whats it like on low speed turns?
Certainly try upping the front pressure a couple of psi and take for a spin . Need a good day with plenty of time so you can keep changing things about then blast down the same stretch of road. Failing that call in to Rogers (hes local for you isnt he?)

Pretty sure the problems actual suspension settings as the bike didn’t do it till I changed the suspension now it feels as if the bike top heavy if you know what I mean
Rear tyre is a just nicely run in fronts getting a bit triangular now but not that bad Dunlop 207 I think have to have a look but I don't think its the tyres

Its not as if the bikes un-ride able its just a bit unnerving at times when it’s a bit wet or greasy and it would be nice to get it spot on

Warby,

My thoughts on your problem are:-

(A) have you increased the rear ride height?

(B) have you dropped the yokes down the fork legs?

Either of the above will change the steering rake angle.

Sounds like low tyre pressure.

The forks have been raised 10mm and the back shock is 5mm longer than standard
But before changing the suspension the rear shock was STD length but the forks were raised over 30mm even had a comment of roger along the lines of how do you ride that but. To me it felt fine

The more I think about it the more i'm convinced that the back end is squatting under power and its just more noticeable when its canted over so going to try a bit more slow speed damping when I get a chance “o the joys of multi adjustable suspension”

Just had a good look at the front tyre humm not as good as I thought it was
I thought I’d changed it at the same time as the back but thinking back I didn’t
So some new rubber needed then I’ll see how it go’s with the handling

Thanks for the help guys

Thought there would have been a comment on the bike being top heavy

Warbs , when we met in Yorkshire for the rideout you mentioned you were not totally happy with the handling, have you put up with it until now? 8O You had just fitted the rear shock when we spoke at Skipton hadn't you?

Yes Jim was new then but done so few miles since back tyres had no use so almost as new.
Think the biggest problem is sophisticated suspension and not so sophisticated adjuster IE me
