Gearbox Problems

Hello everyone.
I have a 2005 model with a Staintune exhaust system. I hope someone can suggest what might be wrong with my gearbox as these symptoms have been getting progressively worse over time:
1) There is resistance when shifting from first gear to second and it is an awful crash/grind when it shifts
2) Under load, drops from second to neutral occassionally (particularly during wheelstand )
3) Under load, there is a very brief period where there is no drive after an upshift - particularly in the lower gears

Clutch plates/springs!!!!
bang a new clutch assembly in it mate.

I'll take it that your exclamation marks are a sign of your confidence in your diagnosis Can you recommend an after-market clutch assembly?

Last time I replaced a clutch was on my dirt bike as a kid and I suspect I'll be needing a puller - might take it to the guy down the street ;)

Even when 'good' the first to second change ain't good!!!
Keeping the chain well adjusted seems to help too, but if you're "Wheelstanding" it on a regular basis then you will sh*g the clutch and the chain too so ..............................

No its not a definate answer to the problem but its where I would start, also as LSM says, check you chain tension/condition and that your sprockets are in good usable condition.
