Following my badly timed rebuild of the front left of my bike (only place to get the fairing panel was Honda £225 ) I want to remove the mirrors from my bike as they were bad before I put renthal bars on and now they they are just plain useless. I know one option is to play around fitting R1 mirrors but I want to fit mirrors onto the bars so what I need to know is that does anyone know where i can get blanking plates for the mirror hole on the fairing from or would they have to be made. If they have to be made, is anyone on here able to make some for me with me paying for the time/ materials of course.
The storms being changed to suit me so might not be to everyones taste. The renthals are great no more wrist or back ache. Next I need a gel seat, engine bars, aftermarket exhaust....
yep been watching since the off. The only one listed was a full fairing with cracks for £150 plus posting. So with that and paint I just had to just go ahead and order a new one. At least it comes already painted and stickered up. Shame to think I gonna have to dremill it as soon as I get it to fit the bike.
Shouldn't need blanking plates - just some large diameter anodised washers as the fairing still needs bolting thru to the bracket. I had some similar size thin rubber washers as well to protect the paint.
That looks good ,unusual to see a fairing cut away as much , but its smart lookin
Ive cut mine and got straight bars fitted ,but going to go for higher Renthals in a month or so
Thanks for that steve, will give it a go. My fairing is cut away about the same point as yours. Picking up the fairing tomorrow so t will be rebuild time over the weekend. Shame I have still done my thumb in so cant ride again yet

Had to cut it that much due the high risers, hope it'll look a lot different soon tho - got a spare tank and tail plastics so will mothball the current fairing and see how it looks and if I can hide the wiring neatly etc then some polishing and paint it some outrageous colour scheme.

Maybe they changed the design or someones modified mine ,but i dont think it'd fit without the cut-out
That explains a lot for me as the pipe sits squarely on the bellypan and I've had to put several plumbers soldering mats in there but it still gets very hot
Just for a bit of added info
The original Moriwaki was build as a race pan. They didn't have any cut outs in them as their sole purpose was to make the bike race legal. ie they were capable of catching the entire contents of the engines oil should there be a major failure.
I had one on mine and one of the first things I did was drill a hole in the bottom of it near the back because I soon got tired of 3 liters of water sloshing around after every time I washed the bike

My new ride is a bit of a Howler and I love to make her Squeal
