just found this

What is Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC)?

Replaced Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) as the World standard for time in 1986. It is based on atomic measurements rather than the earth's rotation. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is still the standard time zone for the Prime Meridian (Zero Longitude).

Somebody having trouble spelling?

If you look at your profile, there's now a bit where you can put your date of birth in. At the bottom of the main page it shows you who has a birthday today.

The words Bull, Rag & Red spring to mind - also "bite me" or to give it it's full 'Sunday' length 'bite my bag'

(I've got a blunt object here, and I'm not afraid to use it. I'm a Stormer on edge)

You know by now Rich that I usually only use my sig on 1st post of a thread or occaisionally the modded one to prove a point (as above) or play Devil's advocate

BTW - Stu's slightly out with his characters it's 60,000 not 600,000

By strange coincidence the word Characters contains 10 letters, which divides into 60,000 quite nicely.

I love a challenge! so to prove the point I posted "just to prove Stu Wrong" in the general test area (although he'd defeated himself with the spurious '0' anyway).

The post contained a string of 60,001 characters, no spaces containing nothing but CharactersCharacters etc etc apart from a 1 at the end just to see what happened.

Sure enough it warns you that your post contains more than 60,000 characters, remove the 1 at the end and sure enough it posts, but the result is very wierd - might be my PC struggling to process it or the site software that's not up to it but there were gaps and all sorts of strange things going on!

Just in case it was the site at it's limits I though I'd better delete it before I broke the nice 'new' forum.

Rich and Timbo being Techno Geeks would probably be able to comment on the shakyness of the result, but for now I recommend keeping the posts to less than 60,000 characters :biggrin

The point would have been, had I the bottle to leave it there, that Stu was out by a factor of 10 and the site was also lying as there would only have been 600 Characters (600 occurences of the word Characters = 60,000 characters)

I'll get me coat

You want owt else breaking, let me know - "I may not be clever but I can lift 'eavy fings"

Who said that? I know it was a TV series but beggard if I can remember what it's called

PS - Tim was sort of right! I tried but bottled it
