Service exchange parts

Post by tony.mon »

Just a thought, but is there likely to be any interest in service exchange parts?

The reason I'm thinking about this is because I was using my bike as my day-to-day transport and it was difficult to complete some jobs in just a day, if there were parts needed.

Otherwise I found myself having to borrow the mother-in-law's wee car.
It's not that small a car, you understand, but she has a continence problem....

Anyhow, I was wondering when I stripped and refurbished the suspension linkages recently whether people would want to be able to exchange their old ones for a refurbished set, fitted with new bearings and seals and with grease nipples fitted.

An exchange engine would also be possible, with the proviso of course that the items to be exchanged were of serviceable quality.

A shim set, made up of an assortment of various shims, enough to be able to do valve clearances without having to wait for a delivery.

Maybe a polished swingarm or wheels? What about a modified swingarm, with a brace welded on?

Gasflowed heads, with new valves?

Even a set of "Rogered" forks??

Any other bits that people might suggest were added to the list?

And what do you think of the idea?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Roger is the man :!:

Give him a call, (phone number in link below) he's a very helpful guy. What he doesn't know or can't do with the Firestorm isn't worth knowing :!:
