Post by bikerman »

Anyone use super unleaded in their storm? my mate has an SV650 and reckons he gets much better MPG with the super stuff, i put some in my storm earlier so we'll see how long it last, just wondered what your opinions were on this??

I use it in the Muell.

Hi octane fuel seems to work better with the Harley lump than any other motor I've tried. Wouldn't be able to give you an opinion on the storm mate.

I'm not too sure it makes any difference as the 'Storm is not fuel injected.

I too currently have super unleaded in mine and can't honestly notice any difference.... yet

I played with the super virsus standard virsus ignition advancer when I had a Storm.
WHat I generally found was the Super gave better pickup at the bottom end but the standard gave a better top end. The only problem with Super octane was it was difficult to equate, as the bike was running better I had a tendancey to open the throttle harder and hence, I didn't get a true reading on economy.
If I had restrained myself the Super would have probably given a few more mpg than std but i enjoyed the wheelies to much  and I couldn't ever work out pence per gallon because i was having too much fun
