Post by mikevtr »

Hi guys,

Maybe some of you could help me. In the last 2 or 3 rides, my bike start ot make a noise, like a whistle, very fine, from time to time, mostley in 3rd gear, at the midle of rpm clock. Is it grave? What is it? I don't like strange noises to my bike. Should i worry?

Sory if i type wrong the words. hope you understand what i want to say.

Thank for your help and time.

Hi Mike,

Not too sure what that is. Have you adjusted your chain lately and may be over tightened it a little :?: that can cause a whirling sound.

Hi Mike,

I would say it's a good possibility, especially if the strange noise has started since fitting the new chain and sprockets.

It had slipped my mind that you fitted the new kit, but now you mention it, I remember you asking about fitting the sprockets.

A good test (as somebody mentioned on here recently) is you get someone else to check the chain tension while you sit on the bike, as your body weight on the bike will affect the tightness of the chain.

Cheers,

Chris.
