Renntec rack

Post by midsnick »

Has anyone fitted one of these racks to their Storm? I had one fitted to my R1 and it felt solid as a rock but the one for the Storm seems to sit on top of the rear plastic :? and underneath the edge of the seat, bit crap unless i got it fitted wrong?

I take you have the fitting brackets that slide into the rear subframe like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-VTR1000-FIR ... 286.c0.m14 ?

Yeah that sounds ok to me. I have just fitted one and it took some doing without instructions but got there in the end. It should secure in three places - directly from the top where the fairing secures, two bolts facing fore and aft securing the rack to the fixing plate thing and then two bolts on the outside as it where that fix onto two bits that slide into the subframe... If you get all that right then it should def be totally solid as mine is. Hope this helps... If you want I can take some pics and post them up tomorrow...
