Can someone tell me how hard it is to change CCTs and also i have a late 04 storm are the CCTs any better than older models cheers fellers :confused

Loads of info on the forum mate,do a search and see if you can find the info you're looking for.
Also there are various ways of modifying your standard cct's ,whethwer it be by fitting stoppers inside your standard spring tensioned cct,or by drilling/tapping a new thread and fitting a coachbolt down through the middle.

Fitting new cct's is easy enough ( im no expert, but i managed it twice without a problem).......as long as you follow the easy instructions on this forum to the letter,make sure you do not miss any part of the instructions out ,as i nearly did,the reason being my printer was fooked,so i had to write each step down ,and when i doublechecked i noticed i had missed an important step out. :!:

It has been said that the newer bikes had uprated cct's........i'm not so sure though :confused

just aquired an 03 and it looks totally the same as the 97 bike i had previously :?

Just done mine, available from here http://www.debben.co.uk/, easy to fit, now adjusting is a different matter so as not to over tighten them, initially set with recommendeed 10 mm between cam sprockets, got the engine nice and hot and then done mine by sound, backed out till a rattle then turned in till quiet then turned in two flats more to give pretension on guides, the recommended way and other suggestions from other sites , i thought the tension was to tight, giving a loud whine, as I backed out the tensioner the engine note changed sounding much more free. These engines expand a lot when warm. I think i will keep an eye out and recheck in a week or so!
