Side Light

Post by seb421 »

what type of bulb is it that fits in the horrible 3rd eye!

im thinking of either a nice blue tinted led or something along the lines of this...

has any one done this on the Firestorm?

obviously I wouldn't be using blue LED's I don't want officer dibble giving me more hassle

id like to be able to buy the fairing like this and have a special screen,

but that's all money I don't have so a simple led will have to do :)

the website for the repsol firblade's LED is http://www.tripageled.com/main.html

they have only blades listed, not sure if they do a firestorm or if any one does a kit for s storm

this is the link for the 8 channel PWM LED chaser http://picprojects.org.uk/shop/shop.htm

i have taken out the side light from my bike and removed the backing there appers to be a bit of room so thinking i might be able to squeeze that 8 led kit in it, and its prity cheep too.

I fitted a super bright white LED from http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/index.php not Knight Rider but better than original I think it's 4 or 6 LEDs in one so you can see it from any angle.
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

These are T10 bulbs.

That LED Chaser kit looks interesting, any idea of the dimensions of the pcb?
And is it a 12v kit?

Edit - It is 12v, but looks to large to fit the pcb inside the third eye.

thanks for the bulb type info :)

ive taken the gubbins out from the housing looks like there's a bit of room now with the Honda unit removed and just the lenses cover left on, wonder if with a flat blanking plate for the back I would be able to squeeze the 8 channel chaser in?

do you know of any smaller 'Chasers' that might fit better? thanks again.

Me too !

I like the Knight rider light.......... I just can't make my mind up if it is cheesey or not lol.

If you had one in red or blue you are asking to get nicked - but in white ? I like the idea...........

I wonder if you can get them in both red and blue together, then perhaps some of these idiot car drivers who have no respect for bikes will pull over and let us through!!!

MMMM that would be worth getting a ticket for!!!

From what im told the CBR900RR has the same 3rd eye housing as the storm so the KITT for the 900 should fit, and they can do it in white or any colour you want.

Dont know if it will help anyone, but here is a link with circuit diagram.

http://www.qrp.pops.net/LEDs.asp

10 and 6 LED chasers....

Another idea I thought if you dont want a chaser, have a look at custom pc case lighting...
