Possible VTR owner becomes deffinate VTR owner! Yay

Post by jalum »

Well the deal is done. I am now the proud owner of a 2003 'storm and looking forward to collecting it on Saturday.

Just wanted a few quick tips if possible. Need to fit new rear hugger suggestions please on the best or prefered make for the VTR also, have seen the lower fairing/bellypan as per this example:-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-VTR-1000-F- ... 286.c0.m14

which i think looks rather nice and finishes the shape of the bike. Does anyone know who make these and where I could get one from.

The other bits and peices I need I can pick up from ebay and some minor cosmetic damage will be resprayed by a friend of a friend who happily does such things for a living! YAY! Might need to pick up some decals and that's it!

Thanks for your help

The model you have highlighted is a Pyramid lower fairing. You could buy both from them and get a discount. My advice is to watch ebay/forum, grab some bargains and get them both sprayed at the same time.

Well done mate, pleased you've got your bike

As Beamish says your link to Ebay is showing a Pyramid Plastic's lower fairing. I also like the P/Plastic's rear hugger myself.

Here's a different type that you may/or not like:-
Skidmarx do a Moriwaki copy bellypan which is around £100 iirc. not painted in matched colour. I believe it comes in black, so you can either leave it that colour or paint it yourself.

Great - yeah I too like the pyramid plastic hugger...the one it's got on it is made of paper it seems so thin and is very 'floppy/bendy' just doesn't seem right. The one i had on my hornet was rigid.

Hopefully i'll be able to get this belly pan from the forum, if not i'll save up to invest in one. Ohter than that the only thing i'm having trouble getting is a new clutch cover (round bit on rh side!) as this is a bit scuffed but to be honest, may as well just spray it anlong with the other body work. Picking up on Sat, will maybe post some pics when i've done some work to it!
