Cost of some Honda spares................. Eeeek

Post by LotusSevenMan »

Further to my fuel tap episode (see workshop talk) I thought if cheap enough I might buy a new fuel tap from David Silver.
Oh boy, was I shocked by the reply to my email!!!

Dear Sir,
The VTR1000FV fuel tap is £171.18 plus VAT and post to order in from Honda.
The total cost delivered would be £203.59. Please contact us and quote estimate number 123847 if this is of interest. The screen is included with the tap.
Regards
Mark

Prices exclude VAT @ 15% (if applicable) and postage
ALL PRICES ARE QUOTED IN GBP (GREAT BRITISH POUNDS STERLING (£))

I think its because of the reliability of the bikes that parts are so expensive, supply and demand and all that. It's a bit of a shocker all the same.
Red (the fastest colour) 98 Storm, APE CCT's ART Titanium high level cans, Airblade smoked double bubble screen and the shopping list is still growing!

Ebay has a 01 fuel tap - Buy it now price £25 (make sure it's suitable as apparently the taps differ between early/late Storms)

Thanks Wicky.
That first advert cost is for the diapragm only which in my case is working fine. The other eBay one, well, difficult to say what that would fit from the pic eh?
Have emailed him to see if he has a better pic. :D
