Hmm!
Only guessing at what you are doing (But it's a good guess  ).
I don't know the actual current drain , and it will change dependant on oil temp, engine force, compression efficiancey, blah blah blah...
but the main fuse is rated at 30 amps, so if I was adding/altering anything I would make sure it was rated higher than 30 amps so it will still be the fuse is the first thing to blow and it's not going to be a loom. ie don't use your neighbours door bell wire
Have fun :P

Thanks Pete.

As the bike already has the 30 amp starter relay ( bolt on terminals ). Surly I would beable to connect straight to that, this would then give me the same protection as the original set up on the bike.
This would mean I wont have to struggle to find a bolt on terminal inline fuse holder. :problem:
Any opinions on that .

Have you not thought about getting a clamp meter that registers D.C, and clamp it to the main positive cable and set it to display highest current draw, then start cranking the bike over.

Timbo wrote:Rick,

I would avoid connecting anything directly to the battery unless you have to. It is always better to protect with a fooz. If you want big inline foozes, try RS or CPC online. Or find someone who is breaking a storm and buy the 30A fooz used as standard.

Tell us what you are planning and it may be easier to help you. We may laugh and point first but help eventually :)
You hit the nail right on the head timbo, I was thinking that I can actually connect direct to the battery side of the 30 amp starter relay to give the power supply. The earth I could then just use the same on the engine casing.
As for tell ing you what it is , carnt not yet .Need to fix and test befoe making myself look stuipid. :plainsmile :plainsmile

Is it one of these:
1. Mobile welding bike.
2. Emergency get-you-started mechanic's bike.
3. Emergency stand-by light for runway, in case of emergency.
4. G/f has HUUUUGE vibrator, but lives in a field.
5. All of the above?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Is it a rocket launcher for dozy car drivers? :D
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!
