TTFN...

Post by Jbrebel »

Well, yesterday afternoon the Buell went-I know next job change prof pic :)

What a horrible feeling...

Not felt that bad since I got rid of my RGV250R... :(

Loved the Muell but circumstances dictate it had to go! On the plus side I got a bunch of 50's (checked ) and a crate of nice German beer.

Mellis, it'll be over by you somewhere. The guy that bought it lives 30 miles from the Austrian border :) Another one gone, he had 3 other XB's on the back of his trailer...

What Swindon? :biggrin Moved back to UK a few months ago!!! Sorry that is the end of that mate, great sounding bikes it has to be said. So many bikes are being exported at the moment, the secondhand market must be drying up!

You going to get something else to fill the void or just wait out until next Summer? Great time of year to bag a bargain, i have bought all of my secondhand bikes at this time of year, cheap as chips!

Sorry mate...did'nt realise you were back for the time being...

Yeah, I'm getting another :) Just trying to decide what to do...

I've been offered a damage repairable 929 of my mate-or I could just get something completley different!

Sorry you had to sell your Buell JB  it seems as if you liked it more than you realized when you saw it going :!:

I'll be interested to see what you get next, will it be this Blade you've been telling us about, or will it be something very different :?:

Good luck whatever you decide, as already mentioned it is a very good time of year to be buying :D

But the left one's knee-slider will go down easily enough...(probably while in a straight line). She just needs to save up for the other one, now.

I'd love an SP guys-like I said on your thread Mike-top and bottom is I don't have SP cash. I'm planning on buying my next bike with a step to buying something higher end when I can recoup more cash over the next year or 2.

Here's the bottom line atm-

I have a top budget of "around" 2K (15% extra max :biggrin)

I need the other money I made on the Buell + parts for other ventures

My mate has a damaged 01 929-to do the work need and get it straight it'd cost me around this price.

I could buy this and fix it...

But I'm slowly getting tempted into looking at other avenues :Wall: Like some have said-lots of good deals to be had at the minute. I have the cash waiting too

Don't know if I fancy a IL4 in all honesty :?

Although, if I fixed the Blade up to standard, straight fettle I would'nt get a similar one at that price :? It does have HID lights, PC, some new spares and it rides well...

But I've always had a soft spot for ZX7R's, Gixxer 750's (SRAD's), YZF750's as regards the IL4 front-yep, realise they are old in the tooth now and under powered compared to a "modern" 6...but I still really like em!?!

Twins really float my boat as you well know. But I'm not fussed about another VTR and I've had a TL...RSV's I have not really explored and I can't really think of much more at that price range...

Not honestly bothered if the bikes 10-13 year old (newer would be a plus) if its been well maintained, lower end mileage wise for its age and it rides well.

So, what do I do?

Answers on a post card :) :?

You give me the money and i fritter it away on drugs and booze over christmas :)

It can't get really that bad can it Tim? Plenty of Die Hard, Pirates of the Caribbean and James Bond reruns on! :?

And it's one of the only times of year you can gorge yourself stupid with food and booze without feeling too bad :biggrin

Ummmnnn, the Blade…still can't make my mind up :?

Really fancied a crack at a PB 90's track day next year :P

JB, I can see this money going on a new kitchen or/bathroom if you don't hurry up and make your mind up :D I can see the missus is already eying it up

Regarding the Blade IMHO, work out what it will cost in total (to buy and how much you'll need to spend on it to make it all good again), then see how much difference there is in buying the same bike in good condition. You'll either be buying a bargain if you buy your mates bike, or be better off buying one without all the work.

Of course if you've already done that just ignore the above

Better yet, embarrass/nag/pisstake your mate into doing his up to a decent standard, then offer to buy it from him once sorted.
Much cheaper.

Chris-she can feck off if she thinks it going on a new Kitchen/Bathroom...only just finished refitting both in the last 18 months :biggrin

Tony-good point

Thing is, I just don't know if I'll be able to get on with a IL4 now :( I'm sure it'll be great for a bit-but I've a very funny feeling I'll be as bored as a mouse after a while :?

These bloody Twins get under your skin

The Blade does work out pretty good financially when put back standard. I'd certainly not get one at that price for that year/mileage under normal circumstances. But it might still be a bit more than I'm willing to spend at the minute and I honestly don't know if I want to have to start sticking a bike back together ...it IS a damaged bike :(

But, in the meantime, I'm not in a rush to buy..he says...:biggrin...so I've already done a bit of browsing and I'm off to look at a couple of alternatives at the weekend all being well-just waiting to speak to a couple of folk later
