Honda Baby Blade ?

Post by pariah »

I,m looking for information for the above bikes. My partner has just passed her test and i,m looking for a suitable bike for her to start out on.
I,ve looked at several other machines around but these has caught here eye, especially the urban tiger design . I was wondering if any one has owned one or knows some one that has.
What should I be looking for, pros and cons to these bikes if any .? :eh:
Many Thanks
Rick

What Marra said...although I'm not 18 stone... :biggrin

Good bikes-it's hard to find a decent one at a reasonable price though. Some dealers want the same for a 400 as a newer, more tidy 600.

My mate had a VFR 400-that was a right fecker to work on! Could'nt get to a thing!

The cbr 600 is fine for her size, being only 5 foot 2 and size 8 waist.
I was thinking about the cbr 600 and having a restrictor kit fitted for a year till she,s used to it then remove it.
I think it would make more sense to buy a 600 as it would last her years . ?

Friend of mine had one. In fact he came to one of our meets on it. Eventually px'd it for SP1.

Brilliant machine. Low, light, screams its head off and goes very well indeed. A really good machine if you can find one that hasn't had too much abuse.
Wanted one myself, but bought a ZXR250 Kwacker instead (1989 import 250cc inline 4 19k revs).

had 2 of them great bikes easy to work on very reliable the nc29 imo is better than the nc23, but you can pick the 23's up cheaper, but they are both bullet proof, good for about 140mph my last one was a track bike and they can certainly keep up with bigger bikes, the only thing apart from normal wear and tear to look out for is the gear box take it for a test ride and ring its neck in second gear if it slips out of gear steer clear gearbox strip down to remedy not realy exspensive if you can do the work yourself, but thats mainly on raced or track bikes that have been abused

My mate has a NC24, it's got 74K miles on the clock and it looks and goes really well! The V4 sounds great...he's done a couple of track days on it and it was great fun although the choice of rubber was limited....

He now keeps it for his winter bike....
No bike (yet).

I had a NC 29 Babyblade a few years ago. Best bike i ever had (apart from me SP1 of course) I bought it from ,the now defunct, Moss Motorcycles in Perth, fresh from the crate with 9000 miles on the clock.

I sold it 4 years later with 36000 miles on the clock, it never missed a beat in that time.

Well worth the money if you can find one in good nick.

My old one still goes around Inverness and I have tried to buy it back a couple o' times but to no avail!
