She lives again!

Post by tony.mon »

Fired the bike up today.

It's been a long time since my little off in November, been waiting for bits, doing a few jobs like the APE-style tensioners and new taper rollers up front.

But at last it starts and runs. All I've got to do now is to try to hang the tail back on; three fastener positions left out of six so a bit of a bodge coming up, and then lash the fairing back on.

Won't be pretty, but it'll get me back out there for now, until a new job and revenue stream gets me into respray territory in the Spring.

Sounded a bit rattly until I remembered to put coolant in........

Can you bodge up with glassfibre/ali mesh the mounting points (front & rear) - the ones at the bottom with the PITA plastic screws aren't absolutely essential.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

hi tony just wondering if i at some point replace the CCT with manual one's how often would they need adjusting if the bike was doing say 1000 to 1300 miles every month?

ive replaced them at 15 or 16 thow with Original CCT's and New Gaskets from Dave Silvers (what a nightmare that was) just intrested in the Manuels because when summer come's the bikes gona get hammerd again and just just run up and down the motorway

cheers thanks

Dunno, haven't even had the bike on the road yet! :P

But they're easy to adjust with a couple of 17mm spanners, so even if they need a tweak it's not a big deal. Front one just needs the airbox lifting off, rear one you can get to without any work at all.
