Maybe the lesson is not to buy a 2nd hand bike, who knows what the previous owner did to it.
After I sorted out my tank, (see a previous post) the bike was going sop well.
Went on a long ride with some mates last Sunday, left a VRF behind, and managed to stick with a Cbr in the twisties.
Got home parked the bike.
Started the bike up for work on Monday, and jeez it is running rough...idles fines. but twist the throttle and there is a roughness to the engine, and a very noticeable vibration. The power is still there, but one can hear a "harsness" to the twin, Harsh and not smooth.
I went thru all the nuts & bolts this week, to ensure nothing worked loose on the long - high speed run.
Anyone got a solution to this mystery?
Rgards,
Gerrit

Sounds like you may still have fueling problems
I had the same sort of thing, after a high speed run a bit of dirt worked its way into the float valve of the front carb and fuel just leaked straight down into the cylinder and crankcase.

Maybe carbs out of balance, possibly a carb's popped off the rubber carb mount?
One cylinder running lean will do it- checking plugs is a cross-check.
Another thought- vacuum tube or takeoff disturbed?
I'm inclined towards carb/cylinder imbalance rather than anything else, unless a plug's loose/arcing.......
Carb seal/gasket?
Or (as you had to seal the tank) a bit of shite somewhere, blocking feed pipe or jet?
There, that should do for one weekend!

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Gerrit,
Also check for a split in the fuel tap vacuum pipe, or even the diaphragm may have split in the fuel tap. Have a look at the outlet at the bottom of the fuel tap to see if it's wet after you've had the bike running, it should be dry.
I can't really add much more than that to what's already been suggested, although a spark plug could be breaking down underload.
Chris.

er, a friend of mine had the same problem, pulls ok when you rev it but lumpy as crouton, turned out the carb diaphragm had ripped on the back pot making the slider bounce about a bit.
worth a look?

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Thanks for the advice guys, I checked the carb sync on Saturday, it was slightly out, went for a long ride on Sunday, it was better but not 100%.
Will take off the carbs this week, and go thru all the options mentioned above.
Many thanks, Gerrit
